Four year old students gain a head start by entering Kindergarten at least one year above grade level. Five year old students typically master letter-sound relationships and start reading and spelling at a fast pace and learn to read and spell complete sentences with punctuations and capital letters before entering first grade. Six year old students learn to read and spell more advanced activities, achieving success without complex rules and memorization.
